##### PHC’s flagship medical programme

# The Metabolic Reset Intensive

Twelve weeks. One clinical team. A complete rebuild of the system that quietly sets the stage for all of your health.

##### Why this is different

## Nobody else is doing it quite like this

Conventional medicine is very good at finding disease. It is considerably less good at explaining why you feel worse every year while every result comes back normal.

The Intensive was built for that gap. It is the fullest expression of The PHC Method®, and there is very little like it in practice today.

### One team, one plan

Physicians, nutritionists and clinical support working from the same page. No conflicting advice. No retelling your story to five people.

### Led by your data

Advanced functional testing and real time wearable data build your plan, then keep rebuilding it as you move through the weeks.

### Sequenced, not simultaneous

Each phase sets up the next. The order is the reason twelve weeks is enough.

##### Sound familiar?

## It is rarely just one thing

The ten pounds that turned up uninvited and will not leave. Brain fog in meetings you used to run with ease. Sleep that no longer counts as rest. A shorter fuse than you would like to admit. A libido that left without a forwarding address.

Most people arrive here having been told everything looks normal. Many are told that their symptoms are simply part of age. Some have been offered hormone therapy. Some are already on it and still waiting to feel like themselves.

Common is not the same as normal.

And normal should be full of energy, free from worsening biomarkers and determined based on your unique health potential.

##### The starting point

## What does metabolic health actually mean... and how is it impacted in midlife?

Metabolism is not how fast you burn a biscuit. It is how well every cell does its daily work, from making energy to clearing out what it no longer needs.

That work happens inside an environment, and the environment changes over time. Sleep shifts. Blood sugar wobbles. Digestion turns temperamental. Inflammation creeps up. Hormones start moving on ground that is already moving.

Most of what you are noticing sits downstream of that.

So that is where we start.

##### Where it shows up

## Metabolic health is upstream. These are the places it surfaces.

Poor metabolic function rarely announces itself. It arrives dressed as something else, usually in one of a handful of familiar places. Midlife is simply when most people notice, because that is when the accumulated load starts to show.

### Weight and body composition

Body composition is a metabolic output, not a willpower problem. When the system underneath is struggling, the same effort stops producing the same result.

### Blood sugar and insulin

Fasting glucose, HbA1c and insulin sensitivity tend to move gradually, well before anyone calls them a problem. Worth watching properly rather than annually.

### Cardiovascular and blood pressure

Blood pressure, lipids and vascular health sit close to metabolic function. Small drifts are worth understanding early rather than simply monitoring.

### Hormonal health

For women, perimenopause and menopause. For men, testosterone and everything that travels with it. Hormones act on cells, so the metabolic environment matters to both.

### Energy and cognition

Fatigue that sleep does not fix. Brain fog, flat mood, motivation that has gone quiet. Energy is produced at cellular level, which is exactly where we look.

### Gut health and inflammation

Digestive symptoms, food reactions and chronic low grade inflammation all sit close to metabolic function, and are assessed as part of the same picture.

Different presentations. One underlying system. Foundations first.

##### Twelve weeks, three stages

## How the Intensive is sequenced

Every stage is shaped by advanced diagnostics, wearable data and your own clinical picture.

### Weeks 1 to 6

#### Gut health and detox

Restoring digestive integrity and easing the systemic load, so the hormonal and metabolic work that follows has somewhere solid to land.

### Weeks 7 to 10

#### Endocrine restabilisation

Functional medicine testing maps the full hormonal picture, including oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, insulin, HbA1c and vitamin D. Targeted intervention follows, including bioidentical hormone therapy where clinically appropriate.

### Weeks 11 to 12

#### Personalised precision

With the foundation in place, attention turns to your individual risk factors and whatever you arrived with. This is where the plan gets specific.

Take it as a standalone programme, or carry on into Personalised Metabolic Mastery for the rest of the year.

##### The long game

## What you feel now is not the whole picture

Metabolic health also sits at the centre of healthy ageing. Which is why the work you do now matters well beyond how you feel this year.

That is a conversation your clinician will have with you directly, against your own history and your own results.

##### Is this for you?

## Humans.

Cellular and metabolic health is the foundational gateway to optimised health and preventative health in all of us. Nobody is exempt.

That said, the people who tend to see change quickly on the Intensive include:

Anyone whose weight, energy, sleep or focus has quietly shifted

Anyone with blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar drifting the wrong way

Anyone navigating hormonal change, perimenopause and menopause included

Anyone told their results are normal who suspects otherwise

Anyone whose old diet and exercise formula has stopped working

Anyone who feels well and intends to stay that way

##### Clinical leadership

## Led by Dr. Mayoni Gooneratne

Functional Medicine Medical Director (MBBS, BSc, MRCS, AFMCP) and Vice President of the British College of Functional Medicine. Recognised as Best Menopause Doctor and Best Longevity and Functional Medicine Clinic by Menopause in Practice, and featured in Tatler, Cosmopolitan, Top Santé, Women’s Health and the BMJ.

PHC is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
